As Compliance Counsel, you will be responsible for promoting Autodesk’s commitment to legal compliance and business ethics. You will be a member of the Autodesk Compliance team and will help build and maintain a practical and effective compliance program. You will be responsible for conducting third-party due diligence and managing the review of potential conflicts of interests and gifts and entertainment requests. You will work with a cross-functional team to ensure on-going compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies; manage investigations into allegations of noncompliance; and help design and deliver employee training programs, new policy initiatives, and business guidance. This position will report to Autodesk’s Director of Compliance & Litigation.
Helping to develop and implement proactive processes, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global laws and regulations in a variety of subject areas, including anti-corruption, competition, revenue-recognition, conflict of interest, and export control and trade compliance;
Overseeing the review of third-party due diligence, conflict of interest disclosures, and gifts and entertainment requests, and managing and further developing related technology platforms
Investigating allegations of noncompliance, and helping to drive remedial and preventive action as necessary
Monitoring updates to laws and regulations – as well as changes to Autodesk’s product lines and business models – to ensure compliance with applicable requirements
Developing new policies and procedures, online and in-person training programs, and smart and practical guidance for our global business teams
Working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including legal colleagues, senior management, Human Resources, and Audit & Advisory Services, to implement and enhance Autodesk’s Legal Compliance Programs
Qualified candidates will have at least three years of legal experience, including directly relevant compliance experience
Practice at a major law firm is strongly preferred, and prior in-house experience is desirable
Experience with regulatory and/or internal investigations, and in building, implementing and monitoring effective compliance programs is preferred.
Ability to interact comfortably with executives and senior management; strong verbal and analytical skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; highly team-oriented; a commitment to professionalism; a sense of humour; an open mind; flexibility as to the types of projects assigned; solid business acumen; willingness to work outside of normal business hours; and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure are required
U.S. state bar admission in good standing is required. Experience in the software industry is desirable as is a willingness to travel occasionally
