Position Overview
As Compliance Counsel, you will be responsible for promoting Autodesk’s commitment to legal compliance and business ethics. You will be a member of the Autodesk Compliance team and will help build and maintain a practical and effective compliance program. You will be responsible for conducting third-party due diligence and managing the review of potential conflicts of interests and gifts and entertainment requests. You will work with a cross-functional team to ensure on-going compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies; manage investigations into allegations of noncompliance; and help design and deliver employee training programs, new policy initiatives, and business guidance. This position will report to Autodesk’s Director of Compliance & Litigation.


  • Helping to develop and implement proactive processes, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global laws and regulations in a variety of subject areas, including anti-corruption, competition, revenue-recognition, conflict of interest, and export control and trade compliance;
  • Overseeing the review of third-party due diligence, conflict of interest disclosures, and gifts and entertainment requests, and managing and further developing related technology platforms
  • Investigating allegations of noncompliance, and helping to drive remedial and preventive action as necessary
  • Monitoring updates to laws and regulations – as well as changes to Autodesk’s product lines and business models – to ensure compliance with applicable requirements
  • Developing new policies and procedures, online and in-person training programs, and smart and practical guidance for our global business teams
  • Working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including legal colleagues, senior management, Human Resources, and Audit & Advisory Services, to implement and enhance Autodesk’s Legal Compliance Programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will have at least three years of legal experience, including directly relevant compliance experience
  • Practice at a major law firm is strongly preferred, and prior in-house experience is desirable
  • Experience with regulatory and/or internal investigations, and in building, implementing and monitoring effective compliance programs is preferred.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with executives and senior management; strong verbal and analytical skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; highly team-oriented; a commitment to professionalism; a sense of humour; an open mind; flexibility as to the types of projects assigned; solid business acumen; willingness to work outside of normal business hours; and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure are required
  • U.S. state bar admission in good standing is required. Experience in the software industry is desirable as is a willingness to travel occasionally
