Curology is creating the next generation of skincare through customized treatment plans and formulas with powerful prescription ingredients for acne and anti-aging. We believe great skin shouldn’t be a luxury, but a fact of life.
Curology is looking for a collaborative, highly motivated, detail oriented, and experienced attorney with a background in marketing and advertising law. This role will work primarily with various marketing departments across the company to review marketing and advertising materials for our acne line of products, while providing actionable guidance to ensure compliance with applicable law. This position will collaborate cross functionally across the company to streamline legal review, working with business partners from the marketing, influencer, copy, user acquisition, and product teams.
This role will report to our Senior Legal Counsel.
What you'll do
Have responsibility for providing advice on marketing, advertising, subscriptions, offers, and promotions, with an emphasis on reviewing consumer marketing communications, advertising, promotions, and digital creative.
Partner cross functionally to ensure that marketing and advertising review is scalable, efficient, and consistent with company policy.
Respond promptly to legal requests from various internal marketing departments, summarizing and communicating applicable legal concepts in a digestible format.
Provide marketing related product counsel for consumer facing touch points.
Create applicable marketing guidance into educational presentations, processes, and procedures.
Previous experience drafting and negotiating marketing-related agreements and licenses is a plus.
What you'll need
2-5 years of relevant attorney work experience advising high-growth companies on advertising and marketing matters.
JD degree. Admitted to the bar and in good standing. (Authorized to practice law in California.)
The candidate should have a working knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory concerns, including marketing and promotions law, licensing, FTC compliance, and FCC compliance as it relates to marketing. (Any experience with FDA compliance is a plus.)
An ideal candidate will also have in-house experience partnering with marketing teams to review marketing materials on the fly to meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under tight deadlines.
Effective and collaborative communication skills.
Ability to foster beneficial relationships with key stakeholders.
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and experience applying and communicating these concepts to internal business partners.
Strong communication skills and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and projects while memorializing guidance.
