Symantec is hiring a Director in the Consumer Legal Team to focus on Partner Channel Sales within the Consumer Business Unit. This is an opportunity to join a very dynamic team of creative consumer attorneys and legal professionals who support the Consumer Business Unit, the providers of Norton and LifeLock branded products and services. The focus of this position is to (1) advise and partner with senior business leaders, (2) manage a team of attorneys and legal professionals who draft, assess, advise and recommend legal strategies regarding partner sales relationships for both Norton and LifeLock offerings, and (3) address all legal matters that relate to new and evolving business models. This position requires collaboration with internal and external legal experts to provide legal timely and effective legal services to the business unit functions. JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Licensed or eligible to practice law in the State of Arizona or California.
Seven to Ten years previous experience (either in law firm, public agency and/or in-house counsel setting) applicable to this role.
Experience in regulatory consumer law, lending, insurance, identity and/or credit, including CFPB, FTC, FCRA, GLBA, GDPR and working with credit related products and credit services, insurance, identity, security and privacy.
Ability to effectively and efficiently manage a legal team and related resources by coaching and developing team members to achieve efficient and timely results, while delivering solutions, in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency.
Diligent work style, well organized, detail oriented, strong prioritization skills for team management and delivering team results to the Consumer Business Unit.
A strong track record of taking initiative to drive progress and solutions for a fast-paced and dynamic business unit, while managing and leading multiple deals and projects, many of which involve, or impact go to market activities, simultaneously, under deadline pressure, with a strong focus on providing solid and timely client service.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal) that are clear, solution-oriented manner that provides timely status and information to your manager and the business unit leaders you would work with and/or support.
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex legal issues, draft and document findings in a complex situation, as well as templates, policies, procedures, and other communications in a straightforward manner, and quickly evaluate and manage the balance of legal and business risk concerns, as well as supervise a team to do so.
Excellent business judgment, ability to think strategically, make timely decisions and give practical, solution oriented and business-oriented advice.
A track record of ability to work within a matrixed organization which is located regionally and ability to collaborate across functional organizations within and outside of the legal department, as you lead projects and address business needs and initiatives.
Ability to drive projects, initiatives and processes that improve efficiencies to help the Consumer Business Unit grow the business in a compliant manner.
