Global Trade Attorney

In the dynamic and complex world of Global Trade, HP is looking for a Global Trade Attorney to provide legal oversight for HP’s operations, spanning 170 countries.   This is a great opportunity to join an energetic and collegial legal team and to be a strategic partner to senior leaders, shaping important legal and policy issues for the company.

This attorney will:

  • Act as strategic partner for Global Trade organization, providing solution-oriented, practical advice on import and export laws.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on the EAR, OFAC rules, ITAR, anti-boycott law, tariff implications, customs classification and valuation, customs and international trade litigation, country of origin determinations and marking. 
  • Lead attorney supporting investigations and escalations on issues concerning global trade.
  • Serve as an escalation point for negotiating/resolving contract issues with vendors, clients, customers, and other third parties on issues concerning global trade.
  • Develop and deliver effective internal training to relevant stakeholders on new and emerging global trade laws and compliance risks.
  • Support M&A due diligence and integration for Global Trade in global acquisitions.
  • Support internal HP investigations as needed.
  • Oversee outside counsel on significant matters.


  • JD from an accredited University, with excellent academics

  • Meets local legal license requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least 5+ years of experience in the global trade.
  • Additional experience in adjacent compliance areas (e.g., anti-corruption) preferred.
