    We are looking for an experienced corporate and securities lawyer to join our team.  The lawyer will support a variety of matters, initially focusing on securities law compliance, SEC reporting, financial and treasury transactions, executive compensation, strategic relationships and acquisitions, and general corporate governance.  Key business partners will include Finance, Controllership, Investor Relations, Treasury, Corporate Communications, Compensation, and Tax.

    The role is based at Levi Strauss & Co.’s headquarters in San Francisco and will report to the Chief Counsel, Finance, Governance and Compliance.


    About the Job:

    • Prepare and advise on a variety of corporate and securities matters, including public disclosures and 1933 and 1934 Act filings and compliance
    • Participate in financial communication preparation and support investor outreach activities
    • Manage a variety of internal securities law compliance matters, including our Insider Trading Policy, Section 16 Compliance Program, and Disclosure Policy
    • Act as a resource to internal stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Controllership, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications) and family shareholders with respect to securities law compliance
    • Support a variety of Corporate Secretarial activities, as needed
    • Advise on, support, and draft agreements for strategic relationships, investments, acquisitions, and financing transactions
    • Advise on and support executive compensation, stock plan, stock administration, and related matters
    • Handle miscellaneous corporate, securities, and financial matters

    About You:

    • Bachelors and Juris Doctor degrees and licensed to practice law in the US
    • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
    • Relevant corporate and securities work experience in a reputable law firm; in-house experience at a public company is a plus
    • Proven ability to effectively influence, collaborate, and build partnerships and trusted advisor relationships with business partners and legal team members at all levels
    • Proactive and drives resolution (or escalation) of significant issues
    • Comfortable taking a stand on complex and ambiguous legal issues
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills; strong analytical skills; strong technical skills
    • Positive attitude and calm under pressure; practical and flexible; able to prioritize and juggle multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment; sense of humor
