The Tapad Legal Team supports the general legal needs of the business from the executive team and the board, to day-to-day operations across the organization. The Corporate Counsel will actively handle a broad range of commercial and vendor agreements across the business. This attorney will be responsible for advising the legal team and business leaders across the organization on general U.S. and international issues in ad-tech, advertising, marketing, data analytics, and data services, with a primary focus on commercial transactions, as well as other general needs of the business. This person will report to VP, Head of Legal and Privacy.

  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, order schedules, data licensing agreements, statement of works and other operational agreements directly with the company's customers and vendors
  • Work closely with other members of the legal team to identify issues, review and collaborate on strategic commercial agreements
  • Provide general analysis and counselling on domestic and international laws, regulations, and industry best practices in connection with advertising, marketing and data services
  • Maintain strong knowledge of our products and provide counsel regarding contractual rights and obligations; support growth initiatives relating to new products
  • Identify, research, analyze, and advise teams on a wide range of relevant legal topics as needed throughout the business; stay informed on relevant legislative and regulatory issues
  • Partner with internal key stakeholders to facilitate legal participation in key business processes
  • Assist in managing internal contract templates, record keeping and corporate governance


  • 3 + years of experience working at a law firm and/or in-house legal department within technology companies, preferably at a publisher, ad-tech, or marketing company
  • J.D. from a nationally recognized law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Admitted to practice in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (tri-state area preferred). 
  • Strong commercial background; experience with privacy law a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills, along with business acumen, a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Proactive attitude and ability to take ownership of projects and tasks and see them through to completion
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and ability to take proactive ownership of required counsel to support business needs; ability to take ownership of projects and tasks and see them through to completion
  • Tech-savvy with a practical and advanced understanding of the digital landscape and the compliance challenges related to data collection and processing
  • Ability to establish effective cross-group relationships in an international work environment and accommodate diverse personalities and cultures
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
