eBay’s innovative Legal Department is looking for an attorney to be a key member of our legal team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The attorney is responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of strategic deals and will drive the structure, negotiation, and execution of commercial contracts and any related policies. This position will provide legal counseling and work directly with the business units to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Serve as astrategic liaison partner to various business units, building strongtrustedrelationships
Counselbusiness unit clients on deal structuring, term negotiation, and operational implementation
Provide proactive, forward-thinking, and creative guidance to senior leaders in a fast-paced environment
Prepare, negotiate and review general commercial contracts, terms and conditions, technology agreements, licensing agreements and service agreements.
Mitigaterelated business and legalrisks, including data, IP, and regulatory risk
Collaborate effectively with counterparts in other business units and legal teams to provide consistent creative advice
Think strategically about how to scale the department and implement operational efficiencies to enhance our ways of working
Perform special projects/initiatives andother duties as may be assigned
Skills Sought:
5+ years of relevant experience in reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including those with internationalthird partysuppliers and partners. Tech experience desirable.
Excellentanalytic skills, able to balance legal and business risk with commercial opportunity
Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of legal and business leadership
Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced culture; have a practical, solutions-oriented focus
Capable of working with minimal supervision
Good sense of humor
Identify, prioritize, analyzeand resolvea wide variety oflegalissues quickly and effectively
Demonstrated ability to lead and drive complex commercial and technology transactions

JD Required
Utah Bar membership (or willing to sit for Utah Bar)
